I owned a show Cocker 30 years ago and when I semi-retired I wanted another. Living in a semi rural area I knew he would get the walks and a lot of love, care and my time.
I looked into rehoming and after 6 months with nothing I found Murphy while searching online. The day I collected Murphy was also the day the rehoming centre called to say they had one too. Fate or what?
I've owned Murphy since he was 6 weeks old. Yes, too young to leave his mum although I was told I could see her before I made my decision.
When I first set eyes on him I knew he was the one I wanted and, apparently, mum had been sold. I couldn't leave him there. The place stank of an unknown odour that I could only put down to smoking related drugs - even his coat smelt the same. He also looked poorly and I knew I could give him the love, care and attention he needed. I just wish I could have taken his brother and sister with me to.
He's now a very happy and healthy fella and I wouldn't be without him - although he can be a pain at times!
