About Me

I've been retired for 4 years now, I was a school admin assistant for 30 years.  I have had golden retrievers for over 20 years and have just re-homed a rescued working cocker.  He has a lovely temprement but is very different from a goldern retirever.  I want to give him the best I can but need some advice in this matter

Ed has come from a dog rescue center and his history is unknown as he was found wandering all alone. He is a lovely dog with a wonderful temperament. He is VERY lively I have had him for 3 wks. I have been taking him out around 3 times a day. In the morning we go out for around an hour and I throw the ball for him and the other walks are on the lead. He hasn't quite got the hang of the idea that he has to heel but at training classes he does it perfectly. He has 2 meals of complete food (The Natural Dog Food Company), He is on the adult food. Since I have had him he has lost weight and feels very thin, I can feel his bones. The vet said he is fine but I'm concerned I may be over exercising him and that maybe as we are not sure of his age he should be on a puppy food. He weighs 12 kilos. Advice would be great as I want to give this little dog all he deserves
