I think this marginalises dog people.. and retired people..and especially retired dog people!

Did'nt like shopping there anyway.

Yestersday I was at my local supermarket buying a large bag of dog food for my loyal cocker and was in the checkout queue when a woman behind me asked if I had a dog.

What did she think I had.. an Elephant?

So,since I'm retired and have little else to do,I told her that no, I didnt have a dog, I was simply starting the Winalot diet again.. I added that I probably shouldn't because I ended up in hospital last time, but I had lost 2 stone before I woke up in intensive care with tubes coming out most of my oriffecs and IV's in both arms.

I told her it was essentially a perfect diet, and the way it works is to load your pockets with the kibble and simply eat one or two when you feel hungry. The food is complete so it works well and I was going to try it again ( I have to mention that everyone in the queue was entralled with my story)

Horrified, she asked me if I ended up in intensive care because the dog food had poisoned me.

I told her no, I stepped off the the kerb to sniff an Irish Setters a**e and a car hit me.

I thought the guy behind her was going to have a heart attack he was laughing so hard. I'm now banned from the supermarket.

Better watch out what you ask retired people.

They have all the time in the world to think of daft things to say!

What a shame you missed the experience of a lifetime, the sniff of an Irish Setters bum. Still look on the bright side you had a nice rest in hospital.

Seriously?  They banned you?  They must be mad... You're the best advert they have... they should have signed you up to do a gig in each queue twice a day.   No vision, these people... :D
