I'm afraid that is exactly what you HAVEN'T done.

I would hope on a common forum that members would in someway be of a like mind and show generosity of spirit to fellow members and contributors.

The CORRECT  course of action would have been to have offered it privately to the individual memeber who sought this publication at an agreed price rather than the charade of generosity by offering it  for sale in a public market place. 

I'm afraid Mr. Wildwood this is the second time in the very recent past that your judgment could be called into question and I await a climbdown and retraction as in the first instance  !

I can't see a problem by putting the book on e bay, I have done the same sort of thing myself in the past and made a good profit by doing so, you just need to have the right book, I hope a good reserve price has been put on it to protect it.

I think the point is being missed.

After contacting WCOL I was advised to start a new thread to see if any member has the book for sale, which i wish now that i never bothered

This I did and had some decent advise on where to go.

I then had a reply to say that someone wishes to sell, I then contacted said person only to be told that they were now going to put it up for auction on ebay and it would be going to the highest bidder. as they believe they have the only one for sale! point to me is that because of the potential difficulty in getting hold of one and someone saying that amazon has one for sale at £90. pounds signs were seen and hence minds changed from a genuine sale and its is on ebay.

This is fine but It is not the way i would have gone with it once i had replied that  it was for sale, but hay ho lesson learnt

Whilst it's a super little book, it's not worth anything like £90 and it only appeals to a limited readership.  I'd say offering it only on this site was a better bet as I'd guess we nealry all either own it or want it, and as I've said on another thread if I come across a sensibly priced copy I'd offer it at an equally sensitive price here first.

 The book in question is priced at £15 not £90, but because of the hassle you and your like minded mate want to cause, I shall withdraw the book and donate it to a charity shop.

Check your facts again. I never said it was £90 , nor bothered to check the ebay site but delighted to see that you have seen some reason !

Equally I have no idea who the other contributor was who is of an admirable like mind.

Could you let me know which shop and when with their phone number please

I think donating the proceeds to a charity is an excellent Idea, I shall now lock this topic seeing as a home has been found for the book
