I have been in here for some months now, so I thought it was time to say Hi. I live in Denmark where I own a small Nature School where we offer courses and training to stalkers, shooters and dog owners. When it comes to the dogs my first love is the Working Cocker (FT Cockers we call them). At present I own 3. A 1 year old bitch from Isle of Islay, a 2 year old male from Mallowdale (he was bought here in Denmark from the original owner) and finally a 5 year old bitch who was bred here in Denmark. I also own a almost 10 year old labrador dog. I really enjoy reading the threads in here written by liked minded peoble who like me love the Cockers and their funny ways. Rasmus.

He is after Mallowdale Gun and out of Cidwr Splash Back. We got him when he was 15 month old and we saw it as a rescue (the owner did not). He was afraid of the stop whistle, afraid of retrieving and afraid of the lead. The way he was thaught to walk to heal had rotated his top neck vertebra 30 degrees so his was pretty much in pain most of the time. We got that corrected and he is now working as good and as fast as anything I have ever seen. He is still very soft to train and I have to progress the training very slowly. I am sure he going to be a wonderful shooting companion.

Hi there, I was lucky enough to have a mallowdale cocker 1st time round lovely little chap that went like the wind! Far too good for me then and now! Yours looks fab and really nice to hear your story its similar to mine last year with a lab we 'bought' from an under keeper last year she was terrified of everything.she is now happily enjoying early retirement with two retired teachers in the staffordshire moorland! Be lovely to hear how you go on with them all and the differences where you are.

Good for you! Taking on a dog with problems is not always easy, but I am sure you will be paid back ten fold. I like his breeding and his looks, very much like his father. Best of luck with him.

Thank you all for the kind words. He is a lovely dog and he deserves so much better than he had. I just hope I can give him that.

Seen too many so called gundog trainers swinging their dogs round on the end of a lead, I'd love to put it round their necks and yank them round and see what they think. I'm sure you'll give that lovely boy a great home. He's one thats had a lucky escape.

Hi there, welcome to the site. What a beautiful dog, I am sure he will repay your kindness and patience 100 fold! I am looking for my first cocker, and don't really know where to look, but I'm sure that I will know when I see him/her. I have a 3yr old lab, 2yr old Border Terrier (just for fun!) and a 12yr old Border Terrier. Will look forward to seeing you here and hearing more about your dogs.
