Today is Ollie's third birthday. He has cards and presents from his "grandmas" and will be getting a birthday sausage from us which he will like and (another) trip to the vet to see about his ear, which he won't like.

Does anyone else celebrate their dogs birthdays or is it just us?:D

For Gus's 1st birthday we bought him some cheap steak, but by his 2nd had realised steak wasn't necessary (he loves ALL food!) so now his birthday feast is mince cooked with carrots & peas, and he loves it just as much.  Now we know about feeding raw, so next birthday we may reduce cooking costs. :)

Gus used to buy us birthday & Christmas cards but again that stopped after his first year.  Can you tell he was our first dog?!

Each to their own Patrick, no need for the insult.

Ha ha, yes absolutely bonkers. We were so excited to have our 1st ever dog, that we got carried away when we spotted greetings cards saying things like "Happy Birthday Daddy, from your dog!" - it only took that first year to get over such daft behaviour. :)

Now I look for greetings cards with pictures of particular dogs on them as unsubtle hints about our next pup!

It's Abs' second birthday tomorrow - we're going down to Bath to Sarah Fisher's Tellington Touch place for a day of TTouch training... can't think of a better present for either of us...

Jack is 'one' tomorrow. We can't help but note the anniversary but I'm not one for cards and dog-cake. I'll be on the hill, as usual. Jack will be doing his thing.

That's enough for me. (dare say the wife will top-off his bowl with some chicken or something- no doubt)

LOL

each to their own, as others have said....

I can never remember the dogs' birthdays, so no candles & cake in our household, but I think it's kinda sweet of those who do to make a fuss of them.  Although the children do get birthday presents from the dogs (and, errrm, from the chickens, ducks, rabbit & guinea pig!!!) and some small gifts at Christmas go to the husband saying "love from the dogs".  Happy belated b-day to Ollie, Neill - I hope he enjoyed his sausage!
