Phoebe, at 8 months, is going through a particularly destructive chewing phase (RIP my wooden dog kennel too -that work was particularly impressive! in just one day too). The dogs go out in the kennel and run in the day but I've been putting Idris, my 10 year oid vizsla, in her Equafleece for the day. It's quite a new one.
I let them in this evening and Phoebe has literally chewed the coat off her back! I know its her as sne still had purple fleece stuck to her teeth! Eithern that, or they had mutually agreed to get bang on trend and make it into a mini!! it finishes (in tatters) around her waist!!!
Is it possible to find a vet to take her teeth out do you think? she can have dentures fitted when she's grown out of this stage....

I think that Phoebe wants her very own Equafleece and was jealous of Idris in hers. She was telling you (in her own way) that she would like you to add one to her Christmas list! Idris, of course, would also like her replaced but in this season's colour pleeeeeeease! Purple is SO out. There, that solves two of your worries about what to get them for Christmas

Yeah. thanks for that!! Now my only problem is finding the £80 (or £120 if Dexter wants one made to measure of his own too rather than just a vizsla one taken in!)
They will all (I'm sure) be quickly 'improved' by Phoebe to line them up with the 'distressed' look of the season...
Anyone want a slightly used golden cocker bitch? Comes with all her own teeth (currently) and vices...

Are you sure it's a dog you've got, not a beaver - there are some unscrupulous breeders out there:lol:

As she was sired by my dog then I know she is at least part cocker!!! I have to admit though, looking at her handywork on the shed, that suggestion could be a strong possibility. Like all good stud dog owners though, I blame the dam...

He he he he...... It is quite common for people to forget about the second teething stage in a young dog! The puppy chewing when they loose their puppy teeth is the easy time, the worse and most destructive chewing stage is when the adult teeth are bedding into the jaw bone around 8-9 months of age.
Beware, ther teeth and jaws are stronger and more destructive at this stage............

I think these teeth and jaws belong to an alligator!! Dexter (her father) was a bed-chewer in his time, and I know Cocker's can be bad for it, but she has taken it to a whole new level!
She makes my vizslas look like angels - and believe me, none of them were (or have I just chosen to forget how many of my things they chewed up in their youths?)

Hi Kate Her half brother is not so different, he has a love of boots, slippers and logs. Lou's just about chewed through my Blundstones, a new pair of memory foam slippers which were so comfortable and I'm just about due a new Dyson as every time I look at the sitting room rug it's covered in shredded logs. I bought 3 new equafleeces 2 weeks ago so Louie is wearing Reefs black one, but he's not too keen as he has been seen nibbling it. Anymore and I'm sending him down to live with his father!
