I'm collecting a liver coloured sprocker pup this evening, it's a rescue from a distraught lady in dire straits.  I didn't know what I was getting into until I received this picture (on Albums, "Chocolate sprocker").  I think she looks quite cute, I know there are lots of folk who don't approve of sprockers but I've never met one so will wait and see!  She's only 13 wks old, she's never met another dog and never been off the lead.  On the plus side, she's had all her jabs and been properly wormed, crated and house trained. Can anyone help me with a name?  Currently she's Millie but I will have to change this as I already have a Minnie & it's just too confusing. Wish me luck!

Katie

I'm rubbish at names, so will leave that to the others.

How can someone not approve of a Sprocker?  It's hardly the dogs fault :)

Good luck, I'm sure you will give her a loving home.

Oh Katie!  She is soooo cute and actually looks very like our Bracken (who regularly gets mistaken for a Flat Coat but is a WCS!)  I like the name Millie but see your problem.  Would Molly work?  Friends of ours have two cockers called Milly and Molly and they seem to know who is who OK. Or what about Tilly to keep the sound basically the same? If you don't mind changing her name sound though how about Bracken like our girl?  I've always thought that it suits a brown cocker (or Sprocker!)

Erin, Ari or Arielle, Tilly, Martha, Marnie, Bree I too could go on and on :)

just had a look at her picture, she is gorgeous, a little cracker, we named our last little girl Maisie, I also like Sadie, Sassy, Evie,  moll, Rosie, Cassie, skye........good luck and enjoy her,our daughter has just adopted a little girl cat named Minnie that look's like a kitten, she is in fact two year's old and has had four litter's of kitten's herself, the last litter being born outside in a puddle, she and her kitten's were rescued, the kitten's homed straight away, our daughter fell for the mother  she has now been spayed and is putting weight on well, and getting on well with her new big brother Alfie (our daughters other cat that was rescued with the rest of his litter from a drain) the lady that rescued Minnie said she had had her awhile and Minnie had nursed many abandoned kitten's for her, animal's never cease to amaze me,no matter what happen's to them they are full of unconditional love,Minnie's having unwanted litter's day's are over and she is now learning to play for the first time and is very happy and much loved. It's wonderful you are giving this beautiful pup a lovely new home, best of luck.xx

Thank you so much for all your suggestions - some great names!  We've decided to go with Elspeth's suggestion and call her Bracken - although liver, her colour is very dark, just like wet winter bracken.  Adele, I agree with you, Coco would have been an excellent  name - but my beautiful WCS is Coco!  She's a super pup, completely bonkers and very springer like, but very loving and curls up quite happily with our Coco. Her recall to whistle is excellent & she's easy to train with food as she's v. skinny and v. greedy! Hopefully she will make a cracking working dog.  Thank you, everyone, for your kind thoughts & good wishes.  Katie x.

Hi Katie

Lovely to hear that there is now another Bracken out there! Obviously I'm biased but it does really suit her - just like it suits our girl who is also a very dark brown with almost a  mahogany sheen in certain light.  Hope you enjoy having her!
