Good day everyone I have a 1.5 yr old cocker spaniel (got her at 8 weeks old) she is the daugther of Goldengroves Gripper and Misty Whisper, her grandparents are Whaupley Reiver, Beacon Ingot, Mystery Bonnie and Priorsmeadow for Samsalin.

I'd love to see photos of any of her sisters/brother/parents/grandparents.

As she was my first ever dog in my excitment and joy of getting her as a pup I cant believe I forgot to ask for them.

So would be grateful if anyone could help!

Kind Regards

Cheryl Ryan

If you look in the folder Playtime on the moors (page 2) on the photo gallery there are two lemon dogs and a lemon roan whose sire is Whaupley Reiver.  Welcome to the forum.:)

Thanks for your help everyone, just a query I thought that the lemon/orange colour genes were recessive, so I'm a little puzzled as I havent seen a single brown/black relative, but the whaupley gun dogs line seems to produce really good cocker spaniels.

Hi Cheryl

Welcome to the forum and thank you for your comments about our dogs.  Whaupley Reiver is Goldengroves Gripper's (aka Bobby) father - Beacon Ingot was lemon in colour.  Mystery Bonnie was (I think) by our champion dog Soloman but cannot remember for sure.  Not sure of the other dam line but if you send us a copy of the pedigree or just list the grandparents on the dam line we may be able to find a photo of the relatives somewhere.  As far as other photos, there is a photo of a young son of Reiver retrieving a dummy on our news page and also Bobby and a daughter of his on the website.

Hi Again Cheryl,

Our Amber has Whaupley Reiver on her sire's side.  She's a very light orange roan but her head is a paler colour - more lemon than orange!  You'll see her in our album. She's a very dainty little thing - a real lady - and very obedient.  She's a joy to own.

HI

We have a bitch who is also grand daughter to Whaupley Reiver.  She also has the strong golden colouring of her grand father.

She had four pups and they were all a lovely golden colour too, not what we expected as we bred her to a lovely black and tan male!

Enjoy your pup

Jackie

Andy/Fiona how many pups has Whaupley Reiver sired? I actually must go look & see what he looks like, | know the dogs I know from him are just beautiful looking dogs. One of the dogs who is my ultimate fav cockers of all time from him has light coloured eyes, and I was told these dogs werent to be trusted which I know is a load of tosh!!!!

Jake has Whaupley Reiver in his pedigree and another Whaupley dog Kiltonbeck Warlord.

He is liver (chocolate) in colour, but looks like he has highlights put in to his ears and the top of head. Most people comment on his hair do !! some pictures of him on the link below, his pedigree is on there as well.

Our Ollie pictured is out of Goldengroves Gripper (Bobby).  Looking at him carrying his face is just like Bobby's.  Ollie is a lovely natured dog and is now 20 weeks.  Marc

I'm not sure if this is the right place for this, but I am doing some research into my dog's relatives and collecting some pictures too. I'm interested in Jack's maternal grand-dad LEAWYN LAW, Does anyone know anything about him? He was bred I'm pretty sure by Alwyn Yates  who has the 'Leawyn' affix. He was  sired by FTCH Norbreck Rinus out of Timsgarry Victoria of Leawyn. I am informed by another poster on here that Alwyn bought 'Victoria' from Simon Tyres, but I know nothing of her son Leawyn Law. He has no FT awards but produced Jack's mom who is a full-time gun-dog herself.

Could anyone help?

Hi Keith. I like to do the same as you but have found that it's almost impossible to find photos unless the dog is FTCH or the owner/breeder has a website.  Most of the less well known kennels/breeders dogs prove impossible to track unless you strike lucky and find someone who happens to either know them or own them.  Good luck with your search though!

Hi Cheryl,

if you use the links you can see Truly and Radley; Truly is Radley's daughter sired by Bobby (Goldengroves Gripper), she is blue roan. This is Travis and Tarka who are both Whaupley Reiver grandkids too (half brother and sister); Travis is the litter brother to Jane's Reah :)
