On Monday evening we were out walking Murphy along our usual route, when we met a a lovely man, his son and a beautiful black WC. They were up here in Northumberland on holiday from Sheffield. We got chatting dogs (as you do) and I couldn't get over the likeness of their dog Jarvis, to our Murphy.Their coats, markings and eye colour were identical, the only difference was size (our Murphy can only be described as lean!!). Well it turned out that they have the same Dad, Whaupley Scarp, (Paddy). It was really lovely to see Murphy and Jarvis running together. Feeling a bit emotional at this stage, (I'm a bit like that) I had to take a picture of Jarvis for the family album!! I gave up trying to get the two of them together, as Murphy was too busy in the field with his beloved ball. Small world indeed.!!

I had the same thing chatting to a guy in the vets a while back, he had a lovely little golden cocker bitch that was his first dog and he was doing some gundog training with...she was a really pretty little thing and I really liked her...turned out during the conversation that she was sired by the same dog as my Teal...Thornray Burberry, who had since been exported to the US apparently.

Hi Nat It's really strange though looking at another dog so like yours, that they could have been cloned. No doubt there's alot of little "padletts" ( I think that's what Fiona calls them) out there, but I didn't expect to come across one on a walk around here. There's not that many WCS around here, and I know most of them, and their owners. This area attracts alot of holiday makers, many of them bring their dogs, so I've seen a few more WCS than usual, which has been really nice as everybody you meet wants to chat about how great these dogs are:)

Well to be honest Wendy, the little golden bitch I met really didn't look much like Teal at all, she was a finer build and taller and gold (Teal is blue roan and tan); possibly why it was more suprising to find out they were half sisters, but she was very similar in temperment and I liked her a lot.
