In a press release today, the National Institute of Health has announced the discovery of a potentially dangerous substance in the hair of dogs.  This substance, called "amobacter caninii" has been linked with the following symptoms in females:  Reluctance to cook, clean or do housework, a reluctance to wear make up, good clothes or high heels.  Relunctance to spend money on home or car repairs until after 'Baby' has new collars, leashes, beds, treats, food, blankets or toys.  "Amobacter caninii" usually results in long hours away from home and exhaustion which may lead to loss of physical contact with other humans (especially husbands and boyfriends).  "Amobacter caninii" is thought to be addictive, driving the need for additional sources - this may lead to a "pack mentality" or like the potato chip commercial, "you can't have just one".  Beware! If you come in contact with a female human infected by this substance, be prepared to talk about dogs for hours.

Surgeon General's Warning:  Dogs are expensive, addictive, and may impair the ability to use common sense.

Published in the Whippet Club Magazine - obviously is not restricted to a particular breed of canine!!

I must have been infected for years - so there is no hope for me!:)

No, nothing for the men I'm afraid - my husband gave me a very long suffering look when I showed him the article.

I think all you fellas should own up to your symptoms - so long as make up and high heels are not involved!!

i have found a man one,

the bug infects the brain, and they have an un nerving unreal  feeling that they are in charge, and when this is challenged they  lose the ability to speak or move, whereas the babys always try to please and thats why they get the pressys and talked about COS THEY ARE INTERESTING, perhaps if they did wear make up and high heels we would take notice ,if you contact one of these infected man humans, be prepared , stick on your best clothes and smile, they wont recognise us, oh and take off the wellies:lol::lol::lol:

Ladies, ladies, ladies. You may mock, but the opening post is not only extremely accurate, but comprehensive as well. It does fail to address the fact that catching this disease means that you will always need to take a man with you to make sensible decisions, as well as navigate the car or van to the field trial/agility show as appropriate. And who is going to run the dog if you break a nail?

Thanks for that Judi, All these years I've wondered what was wrong with me! In my case it stays pretty dormant until I'm out and see another WCS and then it swings into overdrive, fawning over complete strangers and their dogs and apologising for what I'm wearing because " I'm only out walking the dogs". I hope I'm never cured!!

I did chuckle at this as it's the complete opposite in our house - I do the competition entries, sort out the maps and postcodes, do the sat nav etc. Ian just gets in the van in the morning and says 'Right where are we going today?'

HELP, i think i'm in the early stages of this disease...... the symptoms worsen with evert trip to Julie and Darrens house. My work mates just roll their eyes whenever i mention Sonic. Luckily i have a stead stream of patients who are only to happy to indulge my neverending chatter about WCS.

My husband is showing signs too........ think i might hide the makeup and heals from him though !!!
